Big Sur Trees & Sun Engagement Shoot {Mike & Jeanine}

Mike & Jeanine are getting married at the Highlands Inn in beautiful Carmel Ca. So what better than to shoot in the middle of one of the most amazing places on earth, AND coincidentally its their favorite place too! We headed up the coast after thanksgiving to meet them. The light, and cool fall colors were breathtaking.

They spend a lot of time being involved with YMCA, so they sported their "rags".

Engagement Shoot, Mike & Jeanine in the trees
Since we had early fall rains, the clovers were out and we got some sweet shots in the redwood trees! I'm always looking for cool textures, backgrounds and things that are NOT normal.

I shot this shot with a 1/20th of a second, walking and panning with them, using a 16-35mm lens, my lens flare/landscape lens

Sunset times are the time of day I cannot get enough of.

No really, they were this much fun, and I can't help having fun with people who are having fun. Which is exactly what they wanted recorded of them, the story of them having fun being themselves!

Craggled trees, perfect backdrop, middle ground for this sweetness.

The end... of the shoot, but the beginning of their lives being recorded amazingly and forever they will have something that will remind them of why they enjoy each other. This is who they are and how much fun they have. Thanks guys for a great day!

Jake & Necia [engaged and loving it]

Jake is cool, and Necia so equally cool, and since they are getting married, thats just like a big basket of peaches on a warm summer day. Jake has been shooting with us since 2006 and we love him. I'm thankful for the team member he is.

I love how he loves his future wife. Thats why they were so excited for this shoot, it was the 1st time they could have something that showed how proud of their relationship. I believe that everyone should have something that they can visually see and remind them of why they are married. The ring is a symbol of the commitment, and the images that you have that show how you love each other, something that you can have big on your wall, or a screen saver on your cell phone. For me, I have them everywhere, reminding me that I married the most beautiful girl in the world, the most sweetest smile and I love the pictures where she is laughing at my jokes and being silly.

Jake is this way with Necia, they are so sweet together and make such a great team. Capturing them was really a joy. I'm VERY much looking forward to their wedding later this year!!!

Necia also does the coolest invitations design as well, and I'm going to be blogging those soon!

Heather & Nick {casual portrait session}

Heather and Nick drove all the way out here from the Valley to meet up in person for our first consultation and I took them and grabbed some shots of them. We had to hop across a busy 4 lane road with this HUGE barricade in the center(the kind that block the 405 freeway), but they were cool and charged. This is from shooting for about 5 minutes in a field across from where our studio is located. I love this little secret patch we shoot in. I'm really amped to be working with them, they are a sweet couple. Laura Robertson with 'Touch Of Style Events', who is an awesome, premier event designer, will be coordinating this wedding! My wife works with her a lot and now I get to work with her. Laurie up there at Meridian Vineyards works with Laura and they do an AMAZING JOB!
